Siri Doesn’t Speak Canadian

I was walking through Toronto a little while back, and decided that I could really go for some poutine. I hadn't had my iPhone for very long yet, and I was using Siri for absolutely everything possible. No matter how many times I said it, it just refused to recognize poutine as a word. I had to Google it in the end, but before I gave up, Russian President Putin did come up. Poteen also came up, which I had never heard of before, but is apparently a super strong and once illegal irish moonshine... seriously Siri, you have that, and NOT poutine? ~C Be sure to like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter, eh ;) Share/Bookmark

  1. When you put it that way, Siri sounds racist towards Canadians. That’s not right.

    1. Totally! If I wasn’t so polite, I’d write them a letter!

  2. Up until a few years ago, the vast majority of Canadians who’d never been farther east than Ottawa-Hull didn’t know what poutine or beaver tails were either.

    1. Good point… we must raise awareness!

  3. Insert all “boot” instead of “about” jokes here.

    1. There’s an “eh” joke in there as well I think

  4. Putin your foot in your mouth.

    1. You’d love the hover text 😉

  5. Sounds like Siri really knows how to party, then (one apparently hardcore Russian president, and a bottle of possibly jet fuel?)

Not so helpful when you just want something to eat, though…
