TWT48 – Console-ation

If you listen to our podcast, you may remember that a few months ago I said I was going to buy both the PS4 and the XBOne on launch day. Seems I'm a liar! Sorry about that, I didn't really think it through at the time. I'll still get them, eventually. They just need to earn it first. Keep those contest entries flowing!     The market’s saturated. Even the XBox360 was only an incremental improvement over the XBox, and for many people the 360/PS3 is all the console they really want. Consoles have gone down the same hole that Hollywood movies have: you have a choice between lacklustre, largely indistinguishable AAA titles that hew to formula and take no risks, or quirky fun little indie titles that suffer from bugs, low production values, and a play time of under five hours.

    Video games need their equivalent of the premium cable networks to become relevant again.
